How to Ask Customers for a Review

Send your review link after a good job, explain the 6-digit SMS code to the customer and avoid what gets reviews removed. Reviews move you up in search.

Happy customers often mean to leave a review, then forget. Asking every time, at the right moment, fixes that. Here is how to ask without feeling pushy, and how to make it easy for the customer.

When to ask and what to send

Ask when the job is done and the customer is pleased. The best moment is when they test the tap, switch on the light or see the finished ceiling, and say thank you. Ask in person: "If you are happy with the work, would you leave a short review on FixAm? It helps other customers find good pros." Then send the link on WhatsApp before you leave.

Your review link is your profile link with "review" in place of "pro". If your profile is fixam.pro/pro/kwame-asante, your review link is:

fixam.pro/review/kwame-asante

Save it in your phone's notes so you can paste it quickly. Customers can also open your profile and tap Leave a Review.

A message you can copy:

Change the name and link to yours. If the customer does not do it that day, one polite reminder a few days later is fine. More than that becomes a nuisance.

How the SMS code works for customers

Customers sometimes worry about the code, so explain it before they ask.

  1. The customer picks the stars, types their name, phone number, the job and a comment.
  2. They tap Send verification code. FixAm texts a 6-digit code to their phone.
  3. They type the code and tap Submit Review. The code works for 10 minutes.

What to tell them:

  • Their phone number is never shown. Only the name they type appears on the review.
  • There is no account to create and nothing to pay.
  • The box about texts from FixAm is unticked. They only get marketing texts if they tick it themselves.

If they get stuck, How to leave a review for a pro walks them through it. You can send them that page too.

What is not allowed

FixAm's terms require reviews to be honest and based on a real job. Reviews that break the rules can be removed. So:

  • Do not review yourself. FixAm refuses a review from your own number.
  • Do not ask family or friends who never hired you.
  • Do not take the customer's phone and fill in the review for them. Let them write it in their own words.
  • Do not offer money, discounts or gifts in exchange for a review, or for changing one.
  • Do not pressure anyone for five stars. Ask for an honest review.

Each phone number can review you once every 60 days. A customer you work for often can review you again after that.

Reviews are one of the first things customers compare on your profile, and every honest one counts. How to get more jobs shows how reviews fit with your photos, bio and replies. When reviews arrive, reply to them.
