Green, Gold and Blue Badges: What They Mean

Green means Ghana Card verified, gold means a trade certificate was checked, blue means a registered business. What each badge proves, and what it does not.

FixAm uses three colours of badge. Green means the FixAm team checked the person's Ghana Card and selfie. Gold means they also checked a trade certificate. Blue means a business's registration certificate was checked. Every pro you can find on FixAm has the green badge. Gold and blue are extra.

Here is what each badge proves, and where it stops.

Green: ID-verified

You see it as ID-verified in the FixAm app, a green tick next to the name on fixam.pro, and ID verified on invoices from a pro.

It means that before this pro went live, a person on the FixAm team:

  • Checked the Ghana Card number against photos of the front and back of the card.
  • Compared a selfie of the applicant with the photo on the card.
  • Checked a reference: someone the pro worked for or with.

So the name on the profile belongs to a real person, and the person who applied is the person on the card. FixAm keeps the card details private. If something goes wrong, the team knows who the pro is.

The check is done by eye, by our team. It is not a lookup in a government database. How pros are verified shows the same check from the pro's side.

On a business page the same badge reads Owner ID-verified: the person who runs the business passed this check.

Gold: Certified

A gold Certified badge means the pro uploaded a trade certificate and the FixAm team reviewed it before it showed. Examples are NVTI certificates, apprenticeship completion letters and safety training certificates.

Tap the badge in the app, or hover or tap on fixam.pro, to see each certificate's name and who issued it. The documents themselves stay private.

Tap or hover over Certified to see which certificates were checked.

A pro without the gold badge is not less verified. Many skilled artisans in Ghana learned on the job and hold no certificate. Use reviews and work photos to judge them.

Blue: Registered business

The blue Registered business badge appears on business pages only. It means the FixAm team checked the business's registration certificate, a certificate of incorporation or a business name registration certificate, with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC).

A business page cannot go live on FixAm until its registration is approved. Look for this badge when you need a company for a bigger contract, an office or work that needs paperwork. Find a registered trade business explains how to compare businesses.

Trusted Pro, Available and Busy

These are not checks by FixAm. They come from reviews and from the pro.

  • Trusted Pro shows on a profile on fixam.pro once a pro has at least 10 reviews and a rating of 4.0 or more. Every review is confirmed by an SMS code sent to the reviewer's phone.
  • Available means the pro says they are taking new jobs.
  • Busy means the pro is fully booked. Some show a date, for example "Busy until 14 Nov". A busy pro can still answer your message. Availability is set by the pro. It is not a booking calendar.

What badges do not promise

The badges tell you who you are dealing with. They do not tell you how the job will go.

  • A badge does not guarantee the quality of the work. Read reviews and look at work photos too.
  • It is not a police or criminal record check.
  • FixAm does not book jobs, supervise them or hold your money. You agree the price and pay the pro directly.
  • FixAm cannot refund you or settle a price dispute.

Take normal care: agree the price in writing, pay in a way you can trace, and do not pay for everything up front. Safety tips when a pro comes to your home has a short checklist.

If a pro behaves badly, report them from their profile. The FixAm team reviews every report within 24 hours, and a pro can lose their badge and their profile. Report a provider or a business shows how.
