Contact a Pro on WhatsApp or by Phone

Tap WhatsApp or Call on a pro's profile to talk to them directly. What to send first, how to get a clear quote and why FixAm is never in the middle.

Found a pro you like? Message them on WhatsApp or call them straight from their FixAm profile. You talk to the pro directly. There is no booking form, no account to create and no fee. FixAm does not see your chat and does not take part in the price.

WhatsApp or call

In the FixAm app, open the pro's profile. Two round buttons sit at the bottom right: the green WhatsApp button and the call button.

Which one to use?

  • WhatsApp is best for most jobs. You can send photos of the problem, the pro can reply when they put their tools down, and you both keep a written record of what you agreed.
  • Call is best when it is urgent, like a burst pipe or no power in the house.

Tapping WhatsApp opens a chat with a first line already typed: "Hi (name), I found you on FixAm and would like to discuss a job." Keep it, and add the details below before you send.

On fixam.pro, the card headed Contact and the pro's first name has the same two buttons. On a phone they also float at the bottom of the screen as you scroll.

What to send in your first message

A clear first message gets a faster and more accurate answer. Include:

  • The problem, in a sentence. "Kitchen sink leaking under the cabinet" is better than "plumbing work".
  • A photo or a short video. It can save the pro a trip only to look.
  • Where you are. Your area and a landmark.
  • When you need it. Today, this week, or a date.

For example: "Hi Kofi, found you on FixAm. Kitchen sink in Madina is leaking under the cabinet, photo attached. Can you come tomorrow morning? Please send a price for labour and parts."

No reply after a few hours? Message the next pro on your list. Pros marked Busy may take longer.

Get a clear quote: labour and materials

Before any work starts, ask for the price in writing on WhatsApp, in GHS. A good quote answers these questions:

  • How much is labour?
  • What materials are needed, and roughly what do they cost? Who buys them?
  • Is there a transport or call-out charge?
  • How long will the job take?
  • Is there any warranty on the work?

If materials must be bought before the job, ask for receipts and pay in a way you can trace, such as MoMo. Avoid paying the full amount before the work is done.

Some pros send a FixAm invoice. It arrives as a fixam.pro/i/ link with every item listed and the pro's mobile money number. Got an invoice from a pro? explains how to read and pay it.

Check typical prices first

Knowing the usual price helps you spot a fair quote. FixAm publishes cost guides for common jobs in Ghana, for example:

For trades with a cost guide, the trade page under Services shows the 2026 price range at the top, above the pros. A quote far below the range is worth a question. So is one far above it.
