How to Join as a Pro and Get Verified in Ghana

Join FixAm free as a plumber, electrician, P.O.P installer or any of 55 trades. The 4 sign-up steps, what to have ready and how long review takes.

Want to find work as an artisan in Ghana? A FixAm profile puts your name, trade and reviews in front of customers who search for your trade in your area. Joining is free and FixAm takes no commission on your jobs. You apply once. A person on the FixAm team checks your Ghana Card, and your profile goes live when you are approved.

Who can join

FixAm lists 55 trades. Plumbers, electricians, masons, P.O.P installers, mechanics and hairdressers all join the same way. If customers pay you to do the work yourself, you can apply.

Have these ready before you start:

  • Your Ghana Card. It is required for every pro.
  • The phone number you want customers to call. It also becomes your login.
  • A phone with a camera, for photos of the card and a selfie.
  • One person who can vouch for your work, such as a former client or an employer. Their name and phone number are enough.

You choose one main trade. If you also do other work, you can add up to 2 more trades, for example a plumber who also lays tiles. The team checks those extra trades with your application.

The 4 steps: your details, Ghana Card, selfie, references

  1. Your details. Fill in your Full Name, Phone Number, Category (your trade), Service Area and Years of Experience. Write a short Bio / Description that says what you do and where. Tick the languages you speak. The Profile Photo is optional, but customers trust a clear photo of your face, so add one if you can.
The Join FixAm as a Pro form in a phone browser, tab 1. Your details, with name, phone number, trade and area filled in
Step 1 asks for your details and your trade.
  1. Ghana Card. Type your Ghana Card Number exactly as it is on the card. It starts with GHA-. Then add a photo of the front and a photo of the back.
The join form in a phone browser on the 2. Ghana Card tab, with an empty Ghana Card Number box and Choose File buttons reading No file chosen for the front and back photos
  1. Selfie. Take a clear photo of your face. The team compares it with the photo on your card. This is not your profile photo, and customers never see it.
  2. References. Add at least 1 and up to 3 people, each with a name, phone number and how they know you. Then tap Submit Application.

Join in the app or on fixam.pro

You can apply in either place. The checks are the same.

On the website. Open Join as a Pro in your phone browser. The tabs at the top show where you are: 1. Your details, 2. Ghana Card, 3. Selfie and 4. References. Tap Next: Identity Verification, then Next: Selfie, then Next: References to move on. On the website the WhatsApp number is optional. Add it only if it is different from your phone number.

In the FixAm app. Get the FixAm app on iPhone or Android. Tap the Join tab at the bottom, then Sign Up. The form opens on Personal Information. In the app the WhatsApp number is required. Tap Next after each step and Submit Application at the end.

After you apply: review in 24-48 hours

When the form goes through you see Application Submitted!

A person on the FixAm team then checks your application. It takes 24 to 48 hours. They look at your card number and photos, compare your selfie with the card, and check your references and the trades you picked.

Approved? We send you an SMS with your profile link, which looks like fixam.pro/pro/your-name. If you are signed in to the app, a notification arrives too. From then on, customers who search for your trade in your area can find you and call or WhatsApp you directly. FixAm is not in the middle of the job and takes no cut.

If something is missing or unclear, the application is not approved, and the SMS gives the reason when there is one. Pending, approved or rejected explains each result and how to fix a rejection.

Being live is the start. How to get more jobs shows what customers look at first and how to turn finished jobs into reviews.
