Show Customers You Are Available or Busy
Switch between Available for work and Busy from your dashboard: end of today, one week or until you change it. Customers see it on your profile.
Fully booked this week? Tell customers before they call. One switch on your FixAm dashboard sets you to Busy, with a date when you will be free again. Customers see it on your profile, so the ones who contact you know what to expect.
Available or Busy: what customers see
Your status sits near the top of the Dashboard tab in the FixAm app.
- Available for work means customers see you as open to jobs. Your profile shows a green dot and Available.
- Busy means you are booked up. Your profile shows an amber dot and Busy, or Busy until a date if you chose one.
Busy does not hide you. You still appear in search, and customers can still call or WhatsApp you. A customer who is happy to wait can still reach you.
It is not a booking calendar. Customers cannot pick a slot. They see your status and decide whether to contact you.
Set Busy for a day, a week or longer
- Open the Dashboard tab.
- On the availability row, tap Busy.
- The app asks Mark yourself busy. Choose when you will be available again:
- End of today: you are back to Available tomorrow.
- In one week: Busy for 7 days, then back automatically.
- Until I change it: Busy until you switch back yourself.
The row then says Busy, with Auto-available on and the date, or Until you change it. On your public profile, customers see Busy until and the date.
Good times to go Busy: a long site job, a trip to your hometown, a week when you are unwell. Customers who message anyway still deserve an answer. Tell them the date you can start. Some may wait or book you for later.
Pick the shortest option that is true. A profile left on Busy for weeks can look like you have stopped working.
Back to Available
If you chose End of today or In one week, you go back to Available on your own when the time is up. You do not need to do anything.
To switch back sooner, or if you chose Until I change it, tap Open on the availability row. Your profile shows Available again straight away.
If the app says Could not update status, check your internet connection and try again.
