When a Pro Does Not Show Up or a Job Goes Wrong

What to do about a no-show, poor work or a price dispute. FixAm cannot refund or settle prices, but every report is reviewed within 24 hours.

When a job goes wrong, you still have options. Start with the pro, keep a record, and if it is serious, report them to FixAm. Be clear about one thing first: FixAm is a directory. It does not take your money, so it cannot refund you or decide a price. What it can do is review the pro's conduct and act on their profile.

The pro did not show up

  1. Message them first. A short WhatsApp: "We agreed 10am today. Are you still coming?" Traffic, a sick child or a job that ran over happen. Give them an hour to reply.
  2. Keep the chat. Do not delete messages, voice notes or call logs. They are your record.
  3. Do not send more money. If you paid anything up front, ask for it back in writing, on WhatsApp.
  4. Book someone else. Go back to Search and contact the next pro on your list.

If the pro never turns up and does not reply, or took a deposit and disappeared, report them. Choose No Show as the reason, or Scam / Fraud if money was taken.

Poor work or a price dispute

Poor work. Take clear photos of the problem straight away, before anything is changed. Send them to the pro on WhatsApp and ask them to come back and fix it. Give them a fair chance to put it right.

Price dispute. Go back to what you agreed. That is why the price belongs in writing before the job. If the pro sent a FixAm invoice, it lists every item and amount. Point to the line you dispute and ask for an explanation. Do not pay an amount you never agreed to while you discuss it, but do not keep money you clearly owe either.

Stay calm in writing. If you ever feel unsafe, end the conversation, and contact the police if you are threatened.

What FixAm can and cannot do

FixAm can:

  • Review every report within 24 hours.
  • Suspend a pro's profile, so customers can no longer find or contact them through FixAm.
  • Keep your report and your contact details private.

FixAm cannot:

  • Refund you. Payments go straight to the pro, so FixAm never holds your money.
  • Decide who is right about a price, or force a pro to finish a job.
  • Act as your lawyer or go to court for you.

For losses or serious disputes, the formal route is outside FixAm, such as the police for theft or fraud.

Report, and review honestly

Report a pro when there is fraud, theft, harassment, a no-show, or work that falls far below what was agreed. Open the pro's profile and tap Report this provider. Pick the reason, describe what happened, and attach screenshots or photos.

On fixam.pro the link is at the bottom of the profile, and opens the same form.

Report a provider or a business explains each step and what happens next.

A review is different. It helps the next customer. Leave one when the job is over, good or bad. Stick to facts: what was agreed, what happened, how it ended. How to leave a review shows how.

Next time, a few habits help: agree the price in writing, pay in a way you can trace, and never pay everything up front. Safety tips when a pro comes to your home has the full checklist.
