Give a Customer a Receipt for Cash or MoMo

A receipt is proof that the customer paid you. It protects both of you if there is a question later. The FixAm app makes a numbered receipt in seconds, with your name and FixAm ID on it, and you send it on WhatsApp. There are two ways to make one, depending on whether you sent an invoice first.

A receipt from a paid invoice

If you sent the customer a FixAm invoice, you do not create the receipt yourself. Mark the invoice paid and the app makes it:

1. Open the invoice from Invoices and receipts on your dashboard.
2. Tap Mark paid.
3. Choose how they paid (Cash, Mobile money, Bank transfer or Other) and when.
4. Tap Confirm paid.

The receipt is for the full invoice total and says which invoice it pays. It gets its own number, starting RCP-0001. How to send an invoice from your phone covers the invoice side.

A receipt for a cash job

For a quick job paid on the spot, with no invoice:

1. On the Dashboard, scroll to Money and tap Invoices and receipts.
2. Tap New receipt.
3. Type the Customer name (required).
4. Under What was it for?, describe the job, for example "Ceiling fan repair".
5. Type the Amount paid (GHS).
6. Under How did they pay?, choose Cash, Mobile money, Bank transfer or Other.
7. Under When?, choose Now, Yesterday, 2 days ago or 1 week ago.
8. Add a Note (optional, printed on the receipt) if it helps, such as "Paid on the spot".
9. Check the name and amount, then tap Create receipt.

You can make receipts once your account is verified.

Share it

The receipt opens straight after you create it.

• Share link sends a fixam.pro/r/ link. The customer opens it in any browser with no app and no sign-up.
• Share PDF sends an A4 PDF, for customers who need a file for their records or their office.

The customer's page shows a PAID stamp, your name and FixAm ID under Received by, their name under Received from, the Amount paid and how they paid. If the receipt came from an invoice, it links back to that invoice. Your phone number and the customer's phone number are not on it.

Why receipts cannot be changed

Once you create a receipt, it cannot be edited or deleted. The app reminds you of this before you tap Create receipt.

That is the point. The customer's copy and yours always match, so a receipt settles arguments instead of starting them. It also keeps your Earnings totals honest, because every receipt counts as money received.

Made a mistake? Message the FixAm team on WhatsApp at +233 24 055 5040 before you make another receipt, so the same payment is not counted twice in your earnings.
