Choose the Services You Offer
Pick up to 10 services from the list for your trade so customers see exactly what you do. How the list works and how to choose the ones that win jobs.
"Plumber" tells a customer your trade. "Borehole Pump Repair" or "Water Heater Installation" tells them you do the exact job they need. Your profile can show up to 10 services, picked from a list for your trade. They appear under Services on your public profile.
How the services list works
Each trade on FixAm has its own list of services, written the way customers describe jobs. You tick from that list. You cannot type your own, which keeps every profile easy to compare.
- Open the FixAm app and tap the Dashboard tab.
- Under Quick actions, tap Edit profile.
- Scroll to Services you offer. The counter shows how many you have ticked out of 10.
- Tap a service to tick it. Tap it again to untick.
- Tap Save Changes.
Like other profile edits, new services go to the FixAm team for a quick review before they show.
Joined before the lists existed? You may see services you typed yourself under a note that says You typed these before the lists. You can remove them, not change them. Remove any that no longer fit and tick the matching ones from the list.
Choosing your 10
The Plumber list has 12 services, including Pipe Leak Repair, Kitchen Sink Repair, Polytank Installation and Borehole Pump Repair. You can show 10. So choose:
- The jobs you do best. These are the ones that turn into good reviews.
- The jobs you want more of. If you would rather install water heaters than unblock drains, show that.
- Jobs customers ask for in your area. Think about the calls you get most often.
Leave out jobs you do rarely or not well. A customer who calls for a service you listed expects you to do it properly.
Services work together with your bio and photos. If you tick Shower Installation, a photo of a finished shower makes the claim believable. How to get more jobs covers the rest of a strong profile.
Services from your extra trades
If you added an extra trade, its services join your list in Services you offer, in their own group. The limit is still 10 in total across all your trades.
An electrician who also installs CCTV, for example, might pick 7 electrical services and 3 CCTV ones. Edit your profile shows how to add or remove an extra trade.
